Flare Copy CSHID

Copy shareable topic URLs using Context Sensitive Help IDs

A lightweight JavaScript utility for MadCap Flare HTML5 outputs. Adds a "Copy URL" button to the Topic Toolbar that generates a clean, shareable link for any topic — using its Context Sensitive Help ID when one is registered in Alias.xml, or a stripped URL otherwise.

  • Copies CSHID-based URLs for topics registered in Alias.xml
  • Falls back to a clean URL (no query params) for unregistered topics
  • Modal dialog fallback when clipboard access is restricted
  • Automatic path detection for .htm, .html, and .php output structures
  • Configurable via inline JavaScript — no external dependencies
  • Accessible UI with ARIA support
