When you first open a topic in your Flare project, you may notice that the layout appears funny. Specifically, I see this when the topic opens to the Web layout (because that is the last mode I was using when I edited the document), but Flare opens the topic displaying the Print media type.

The media type is selected by default as the media type of your primary target. If you want the media type to always open your projects in the Print media type, then select a print-based output type as your primary target. If you want to always open your projects in the Online media type, then select an online-based output type as your primary target.

You’ll still see this problem if you frequently switch back and forth between editors; there is no helping that.  but at least you can know which part of your style sheet will be applied to the topics when you first open your project.
